Do you want to be responsible for your own medium/high voltage lab? In this role you will testing and validating customer specific cable joints for the international power grid. To do this well you need to make sure the lab is always up and running and the test installations are up to date. Together with the multidisciplinairy R&D team you design the measurements and perform the tests.

Next to that you will get the opportunity to travel with your sales colleague to international customers to perform demo’s. As a Test Engineer you are responsible for designing, building and performing the tests for the cable joints. Since the joint are used in medium/high voltage environments the technical implications are quite diverse and multidisciplinary. This means that the tests can differ from electrical, heat, viscosity to insulation tests. From A-Z you make sure the tests are performed in the right way. You do this together with your R&D colleagues. Your workweek is usually quite practical, existing of building tests setups and performing measurements. If you like you can also process the data, or let one of your R&D colleagues do this. Test differ from short tests with direct results, to durability tests that can take days to weeks.
To be able to perform the tests according to the high quality standards and get the right data, you keep all the lab equipment in good condition. Sometimes you need to order new equipment, or perform calibrations on the current setups. Especially form a safety standpoint, this is extra important.
Sometimes customers have specific practical questions and you will be asked by a sales colleague to join their visit. Most of the time this is in the Netherlands, bit 2-4 times per year you may join them to destinations in Europe or other continents. There you can give a demo of the products, or help the team of mechanics get used to your cable joints.
Lovink Enertech is a small and innovative company which has invested alot in their own testing facilities. They are willing to train you in the necessary medium/ high voltage fields, and train you to ultimately manage and improve the facilities independently. You will be guided by experienced colleagues from Engineering & Development.
A salary in accordance with the Collective Labor Agreement Metalektro between €2.800,00 and €3.600,00 gross per month, depending on diplomas and relevant work experience. You will receive 8% holiday pay, 27 days of leave and 13 days of adv, and an operating profit-related bonus (max. 5% of the gross annual salary). There are flexible working hours and a family-oriented, collaborative atmosphere.
As a person you are practically oriented. You get excited when you can work with your hands for a large part of the week and design new setups. When something is explained to you, you cannot wait to try it for yourself. You are able to keep an overview if short / ad hoc tests have to be performed in between bigger projects, while at other times long tests have to be performed for a longer period of time. In addition, you recognize yourself in the following points:
✓ HBO degree Electrical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Applied Physics, Mechatronics or comparable.
✓ You have internship or work experience with performing tests. Some knowledge and/or affinity with powergrids and in particular medium voltage and associated tests is important. Do you know how Ohm's law works and why it is important for this position?
✓ You are also willing to travel to (foreign) customers a few times a year together with a Sales colleague. Traveling outside of Europe occurs on average 3 times a year and you are away for about 1 week. Short trips to England or Germany are something you do a little more often, but in 1 or 2 days.
Lovink Enertech is a small, innovative company in Terborg in the Achterhoek. They have acquired a unique market position by developing, supplying and maintaining technically high-quality cable fittings (cable joints). These joints distinguish themselves in the energy market because of their long lifespan and lowering the risk of malfunctions. The latter (among others) is an important motivator for network operators all over the world.
These cable joints are developed, tested, sold and maintained in Terborg. To do this, there is an R&D and test department.
